The October edition of Solvang’s monthly “3rd Wednesday”, to be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, will feature monthly 3rd Wednesday deals at local merchants including boutiques of all sorts, restaurants and gourmet food purveyors; the weekly Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market; Solvang 3rd Wednesday discounts at local hotels; and the best way to take advantage of it all, the popular Solvang 3rd Wednesday Wine & Beer Walk.

24th Annual Solvang Haunted House

Solvang Parks & Recreation’s 24th “Annual Haunted House” and this year’s “Halloween Street Fest”, will thrill visitors with food, fun and spirits on Monday and Tuesday, October 30 and 31.

The Haunted House and Street Fest, held at/in front of the Solvang Festival Theater (420 2nd Street), will run from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM both of those nights. (A “Kid Friendlier” version of the Haunted House runs 6:00-6:30 PM, both nights.)

The theme of this year’s Haunted House is “The Curse of Skull Mountain”!

RealMenCook_Logo_PMS187Real Men Cook, Arts Outreach’s much anticipated annual fundraiser, combines over 50 amateur male chefs, 35 premier local vintners and brewers, live music and fantastic auction items to create the Santa Ynez Valley’s Party of the Year! This year’s annual event will take place at Monty and Pat Roberts’ ‘Flag Is Up Farms’ (901 East Highway 246, Buellton) on Saturday, October 21, from 6 PM to 10 PM.

“Real Men Cook” is a fundraiser for the Santa Ynez Valley non-profit arts organization, Arts Outreach, which is dedicated to “bringing art to life and life to art”. Activities include elementary school classroom workshops and on-going art curriculum led by artists-in-residence; summertime Arts and Drama programs; after school Arts; semi-monthly Elder Arts entertainment; and the annual Applause Young Artists program.
